Hello, everyone! Hope your week has been going well. We’ve been hard at work preparing for our 5th annual Gala-Q (and you can read all about that here!), but something else is fresh out of the oven that we’d love to tell you about.
Last year at the bakery, we began selling bagged cake mixes in twelve of our most popular flavors, including four gluten-free flavors. It’s a great way for families out of town, or even out of state, to get some of the Special Kneads magic in their kitchen. However, that’s really the furthest we can go– we love our little bakery in Lawrenceville, but if someone in, say, Seattle wanted to donate to us and get some delicious foodstuffs in return, they’d unfortunately be out of luck (short of someone coming in, buying a bag, and flying there themselves). Such is the tragedy of making perishable baked goods!
As some of you may know, last holiday season we went out on a limb and tried something new, offering holiday boxes that could ship anywhere in the continental United States. It was a new and honestly intimidating experience, but it was still very fun and surprisingly successful. We were delighted to see an outpouring of support from places all over the country, places we hadn’t heard from before, places that didn’t have the chance until then to taste cupcakes mixed by a special needs adult in Georgia… Needless to say, I’d say it was a massive success. And that’s why we want to keep that idea going by offering shipping for our cake mixes, too!
Clicking the link above will take you to our eBay listings. We use it to sell unused baking equipment and vintage cake decorations, like tins and toppers, but it’s also where we sold our holiday boxes. And if you’re reading this, then you’ll find our cake mixes there too, ready to be shipped anywhere in the continental US! Now anyone can find the taste of the bakery in their ovens while supporting a great cause. Pretty sweet win-win, if you ask me!
Enjoy, and have a blessed day!
