Hello everyone! We’re glad to be back.
We want to take a moment to sincerely apologize for the website outage that occurred between Tuesday, July 27th and Friday, August 6th. During this time we had no access to our web page and were unable to send or receive emails from any of our associated email addresses (including [email protected]), meaning that if you tried to get in touch with us during that time, you may need to re-send your email or give us a call. We promise we weren’t ignoring you!
The outage occurred as a result of undisclosed issues experienced by the company that was providing our website hosting. Unfortunately, there was nothing we could do about the outage. As a result, we have chosen to migrate our site to a new hosting company. The experience we have had with this new company so far has been promising, and we are hoping to use their services for the foreseeable future.
Now, you may notice some differences if you look around a bit. We are currently operating from a backup of the website that was made in early August of last year. It was unfortunately the most recent full backup that we had access to, though we have been able to recreate several other pages from partial backups. As a result, shop.specialkneadsandtreats.org is unfortunately unavailable at the moment. Feel free, however, to use our Square store. It was completely unaffected by our digital marooning.
We will have access to a more recent backup of our site soon. When we do, the site will be restored to exactly how it was.
While we are deeply upset that this had to happen, we are nonetheless grateful to God for giving us this trial during a relatively non-busy season. We plan to learn from this lesson to be better able to serve the community and fulfill our mission. We will be writing up new policies for digital information backups both on-server and in-house as well as investing in better technology solutions for our current kneads. In short, we’ll do our best to make sure this doesn’t happen again.
Thank you for your understanding, and we hope you have a blessed day.
